"Suicide Prints" explores McCaskill’s fascination with manmade structures, especially old buildings, factories, mills and equipment. Their shapes, shadows, textures and the play of light
on various metal, stone and glass surfaces make for bold, compelling art. McCaskill’s intent is to offer the observer a different perspective and a heightened sense of reality by utilizing surreal colors and graphic boldness as a way to emphasize line, shape and form. His original prints are created through a reductive method sometimes called “suicide” or “wasteblock” printing
