The ARt of ARt

About his artwork John McCaskill states, “I’m interested in creating a sense of balance.  A place where the world of abstract and conceptual ideas meet the natural world. McCaskill’s artwork has been influenced by traditional Eastern art and the Japanese philosophy that looks at life for its beauty and accepts transience. “There is a natural process that is imperfect, impermanent and incomplete. Like the world around us my art is constantly evolving”.

John McCaskill was the President of Jomac Graphic Communications, Inc. in Alameda, CA for 18 years before moving to Kona Hawaii in 2003.  He works out of his Studio in Kailua-Kona, on the Big Island of Hawaii and at the Honolulu Museum Art School in Honolulu. McCaskill has taught screen and woodblock printing, is a founding member of Pacific Island Printmakers, member of the California Society of Printmakers and is a Board Director of the Honolulu Printmakers.
