The ARt of ARt

About his artwork John McCaskill states, “I’m interested in creating a sense of balance.  A place where the world of abstract and conceptual ideas meet the natural world. McCaskill’s artwork has been influenced by traditional Eastern art and the Japanese philosophy of Wabi Sabi that accepts accepts transcience in all things around us. “There is a natural process that is imperfect, impermanent and incomplete. Like the world around us my art is constantly evolving”.

John McCaskill was the President of Jomac Graphic Communications, Inc. in Alameda, CA for 18 years before moving to Kona Hawaii in 2003.  After years of workng out of his studio in Kailua-Kona, McCaskill will be opening a new studio and gallery in Honolulu later this summer.   McCaskill is a printmaking instructor at the Honolulu Museum Art School, is a founding member of Pacific Island Printmakers, member of the California Society of Printmakers and currently serves on the Honolulu Printmakers' Board of Directors.
